Jamie Good - Chair of St Marks School PTA 2009-2010

Hello,

Welcome to the PTA pages on St Marks School Website. My name is Jamie Good and I'm the current chair of the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) here at St Marks.

Every parent or guardian with children at St Marks School is automatically a member of the PTA. We organise a variety of fun social and fundraising events throughout the year.

Our aim is to raise money for the schools to pay for some of the vital extras which benefit our pupils, enrich the curriculum, and improve the school environment. I'd also like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Sue Robson, the previous Chair. She has left a very big pair of shoes for me to fill!

I enjoy being part of St Mark's PTA as it gives me the opportunity to get involved with the day to day needs of the school, joining in with fundraising and finding ways in which we can help within the local community.

LATEST NEWS

Well done to everyone who took part in the "Foolish Hat" competition on April's Fools Day and congratulations to the winners.  We hope to have some phots soon.

Last Year we helped to raise nearly £10,000!

We did this by doing lots of things, including our famous Summer Fair (the one with the gunge!), the Christmas fair, a sponsored bounce, a fashion Show, Discos, BBQs and a camp outs.  Thank you to everyone who helped to contribute to such great fund-raising efforts.

And we spent nearly £10,000 too, mostly on the new playground equipment in the infant playground, but also new playground markings, Trips for Year 6, and loads of great prizes, classroom wishlists and lots of paint!

We want to do the same again this year, but we can only do it with your help. Just coming along to the events is a great way of contributing, but if you want to do a little more please feel free to come along to out next meeting.
